David J Gill LLM in IP (London), GDL (Law), MA Hons (St Andrews)

David Gill is a chartered UK and European Trade Mark Attorney. He read history at the University of St Andrews and then law. David gained a distinction (1st class) in the LLM in Intellectual Property at Queen Mary, University of London. He trained at the London office of  the international IP law firm, Marks & Clerk, before moving to Switzerland to work as in-house Trade Mark Attorney for ISL Worldwide and then at FIFA. David has managed the IP portfolios and anti-ambush marketing strategies for some of the worlds largest sports events and portfolios (including the FIFA World Cup and the UEFA EURO championships), building a strong network of associate law firms around the world.

David is a member of CITMA, Marques and INTA, sitting on various committees. David has assisted with IP working groups at the European Commission in Brussels and the EUIPO in Alicante.

David regularly lectures on IP Law and anti-ambush marketing. He was guest lecturer on IP Rights in Sport at the CIES, the University of Neuchatel for over ten years. He has also spoken at the annual meetings of INTA, Marques, CITMA and the Licensing Executives Society International (LESI) – as well lectures at Central St. Martin’s University in London, HSE University in Moscow, Paris-Sorbonne University in Abu Dhabi, Cairo University, and a US Sports Law Association workshop in New York .

Victoria Gill MSc (Imperial)

Victoria took over the management of the administration and business operations of the firm in 2015. Victoria has wide and diverse experience of different businesses having worked for BHP Billiton in Sydney, Morgan Stanley in London and the John Radcliffe Hospital in Oxford.

 

Silas Gill MSc in Human Computer Interaction (St Andrews)

Silas is a Chartered Trade Mark Attorney and Associate, advising clients on the protection, management and enforcement of their trade mark rights in the UK and internationally.

His practice covers the full breadth of trade mark work, from clearance searches and filing strategies through to prosecution, portfolio management, oppositions and infringement matters. Silas takes a pragmatic and commercially focused approach, helping clients navigate complex trade mark issues and develop effective strategies for protecting their brands.

Silas is a member of the International Trademark Association (INTA) and the Chartered Institute of Trade Mark Attorneys (CITMA), and sits on INTA’s Rising Practitioners Committee. He has a particular interest in the evolving challenges facing brand owners and the development of the trade mark profession.

Outside of practice, Silas is an active water polo player, representing a London club in international club competitions. He is also a qualified Water Polo Coaching Assistant and a part-qualified regional referee. A keen wine enthusiast, Silas holds WSET Level 2 and Level 3 qualifications, both with Distinction.
